In 2019 Atrium launched ‘Carts for the Arts‘ an Exhibit that highlights the dangers and waste of ‘disposable’ vape pens.
Where the cannabis oil could not be separated from the lithium-ion battery causing the item not to be able to be placed anywhere safely or legally to be disposed of, yet they were marketed as disposable.
The exhibit was part of the UpcyclePop event, where Atrium, Big Karma, and Clinton Petrino held a panel discussion on the topic. From this panel, a group was formed and with the leadership of the National Stewardship Action Council legislation was passed to separate the cannabis oil from the lithium battery and not to be able to market these as disposable.
